The
Illustrated Geographic Atlas of the Kingdom of Poland
Towns shown on the maps will be indexed and we are asking for volunteers to index a Powiat and return the information back to the Webmaster. All of the maps are now available to view. See the Powiat Map List. The maps are high resolution maps. To download a lower resolution version of a map from this website, double click on the name of the Powiat listed in the Powiat Map List. Wait until the map completely downloads (high speed connections will take a few seconds while dial-up connections will be approximately one minute or so.). The map that you downloaded and saved can now be opened using your photo application. The first person who agrees to index a Powiat will receive a printed detailed 11" x 17" color map of the Powiat by US Mail (you need to send your name and US Mail address to the Webmaster). Your name will be listed on the Powiat Map List as the person indexing that Powiat. Town indexing can be done by printing the towns in Polish font and their coordinates on a sheet of paper and sending them to the Webmaster by US mail. Or, if you have the Excel application you can enter them in an electronic form (a copy of the Form can be downloaded). The index is to be done with an English keyboard; when a Polish letter is to be indicated, a "~" should be placed after the typed letter (See Alphabetic Conventions for the details). The completed Website index will show the town spelling in the correct Polish font. Detailed suggested instructions will be sent along with the maps. For Website Problems:
